We seek to understand the complexity of urgent social, political, and ecological problems and develop leaders who are prepared to find solutions to these challenges through collaborative scholarship and innovation.
About
We strive for a more just and sustainable world
From the Director
The Department of Sustainability and Social Justice represents a reimagining of International Development, Community, and Environment (IDCE), which was established at Clark University in 2000. This reimagining is driven by the challenges of an ever-more complex world. These challenges motivate us to act and they inform our mission and our approach.
Community
The faculty, staff, students, and research partners in our department are driven by purpose and meaning in their work. We share an ethos of collaboration and an ethical commitment to equity and human dignity. Learn more about our events, opportunities, and initiatives.
Partnerships
Learn about the networks we’ve formed with individuals, agencies, and organizations across the globe and the opportunities they provide for our students. We’ve established Global Learning Collaboratives in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Greece, Mexico, and Puerto Rico and long-standing partnerships with local organizations, schools, and agencies in the City of Worcester.
